Step by step
- Open Team. If you aren't in a team yet, create one with 'Create a team': give it a name, then invite people by email. They get an email from Lebs's sign-in provider, Clerk, and join after signing in.
- Got a team code from your team's leader? Type it under 'Have a team code?' and click Join team. The first time you open Lebs with a new account, a card asks the same question; on the Team screen the field is under 'Join a team', or behind the 'Have a team code?' button if you're already in a team. You join as a member and the team opens right away.
- Use the team switcher to move between your own space and each team you belong to. The Team screen always shows the team that's selected there, and only that team's items.
- Click 'Share something' and pick what it is: an investment thesis, a trade plan, a watchlist or a research note. For a plan, pick one of your own Trade plans and its entry, stop, target and time limit are copied in. For a watchlist, 'Use my watchlist' copies your symbols.
- Write a title, the symbols it's about and the text. For a thesis, say why you think it, what would prove you wrong, and by when. Then click Share.
- Pick any item on the left to read it. Vote For, Against or Abstain on theses and plans, and add comments underneath. Click your vote again to withdraw it.
- Edit or delete what you shared. If a teammate changed an item since you opened it, Lebs refuses the edit and asks you to reload rather than overwrite their work.
- Team admins click 'Invite & manage members' to invite people, change roles and remove members.
- Team admins can also give out a join code instead of inviting by email: click 'Join codes', choose how many people can use it and how long it lasts (1, 7 or 30 days), and click 'Create join code'. Click Copy and send the code to the people you want. Each code shows how many uses are left, and 'Revoke' stops it at once.
Every control, explained
- Team switcher
- Shows which team is active and lets you change it, create a team or leave one. How: Click it at the top of the Team screen. 'Personal account' means you're working on your own.
- Share something
- Adds a thesis, plan, watchlist or note to the team. Only what you share here is visible to the team; your own plans, calls and journal stay private. How: Click it, pick the type, fill in the form and click Share.
- Filters and sorting
- Search titles, text or an exact symbol; show one type; sort by recently changed, most discussed or most votes. How: Use the box and the two menus above the list.
- Votes
- One vote per person per item, which you can change. A verdict appears once at least two people voted for or against: 'supports' or 'opposes' needs two thirds, otherwise it's split. How: Click For, Against or Abstain on a thesis or plan.
- Discussion
- Comments in order, with who wrote them and when. Comments can't be edited, so a thread can't be rewritten after people reply; the author or an admin can delete one. How: Type in 'Add a comment' and click Comment.
- Add to my watchlist
- Copies a shared watchlist's symbols into your own watchlist. How: Open a shared watchlist and click it. Only symbols in the sample workspace can be added.
- Have a team code?
- Joins you to a team as a member with a code from the team's leader. Codes are 10 letters and numbers, like K7M2Q-9XPDT; capitals, spaces and dashes don't matter. How: Type or paste the code and click Join team. If it has expired, been revoked or been used the most times it allows, Lebs says so and you ask the leader for a new one.
- Join codes
- For admins: make, copy and revoke the codes that let people join the team as members. Each code has a limit on uses and an expiry date, and the list shows the uses left. How: Click 'Join codes' at the top of the Team screen, then 'Create join code'. Use Copy to send a code, and Revoke (then 'Revoke code') to stop one.
- Roles
- Admins can invite and remove people, and edit or delete anyone's items and comments. Members share, comment, vote, and edit or delete their own items. Any other role can read only. How: Admins change roles under 'Invite & manage members'. A join code always adds a member, never an admin.
Reading the numbers
- Thesis
- A claim about what will happen and why, with what would prove it wrong and a time limit. Without the last two it can't be judged.
- Verdict
- A summary of votes, not a forecast. A team can all agree and still be wrong.
Tips
- Ask 'what would change your mind?' in the first comment. It turns a debate into a test.
- Record the call in your record as well, so the team can check later whether the thesis worked.
- Make a join code for just the people you expect (for a class of 20, 20 uses and 7 days) and send it privately.
Common mistakes
- Treating a popular vote as evidence.
- Sharing personal details or account numbers: everyone in the team can read everything shared there.
- Posting a join code where anyone can see it. Whoever has the code can join until its uses run out or it expires.
Limits to know
- Use Settings → Display → Reduce transparency for opaque surfaces.
- Teams need a signed-in account; the test login has none.
- Teammates' changes appear when the screen refreshes, every 30 seconds while it's open, or when you click Refresh. It isn't a live chat.
- A team can hold 1,000 shared items and each item 300 comments. Someone removed from the team loses access within about a minute.
- Join codes allow 1 to 100 uses and last up to 30 days; a team can have 20 active codes at once. You get 10 tries in 15 minutes to enter a code, wrong or right.
- Revoking a code stops new people from joining with it. It doesn't remove anyone who already joined: remove them under 'Invite & manage members'.
- Votes and comments are members' opinions, not advice, and Lebs places no orders.
Try it: Create a team, share a thesis on one stock with what would prove it wrong, and vote on it yourself.
Lebs is for education and research, not investment advice, and it places no orders.
